Darlene Eldridge Investigative Reporting Fund hits $1,340.

Thanks to a $1,000 contribution by Putnam Pit cartoonist and columnist c.d. 'Sonny Boy' norman, the Darlene Eldridge Investigative Reporting Fund at Loyola University New Orleans now stands at $1,340. If the fund reaches $10,000, the university will be able to sustain the grant on the interest the principal earns. The money will be used to help Tennessee students enrolled in Loyola's Department of Communications to either fund an investigative project that otherwise could not be done, or to acquire technology or other tools that would help the student develop skills necessary to serve the community through investigative journalism. Another $40 contribution was made in the name of Cookeville attorney Joseph Edwards, of Edwards & Edwards. For information on how to make a tax-deductible contribution in the name of the murdered Cookeville school teacher, e-mail Alfred L. Lorenz, Ph.D. Other contacts for Dr. Lorenz:
