OK annex
A tense, standing-room-only crowd saw the Cookeville
Planning Commission vote unanimously last night to annex a 1,200-acre area
east of Cookeville, the latest and by far the largest of several annexations
considered and approved this year. Some in the audience applauded -- but
an apparently larger number did not -- and a few left visibly angry, commenting
"This is not fair!" and "This is not democracy!" as they exited past the
table around which the members of the commission sat. (August
